A variety of activites are yours for the taking along the scenic Cattaraugus Creek, which makes its way through Springville and the Town of Concord. Anglers and fly fishermen can test their skills on the waters of Cattaraugus Creek at several public access points. For advernture seekers, the Cattaraugus offers great opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and white water rafting. The gorge is an enviromental gem, boasting the second largest concentration of old growth forest in New York State outside the Adirondak and Catskill State Forest Preserves. Four hundred year-old trees are visible from as nearby as the Route 219 bridge that traverses the Cattaraugus Creek canyon. |

Scoby Dam Park, the newest addition to the Erie County Parks System, is a passive park located on the banks of Cattaraugus Creek. The area offers great opportunities for water sports, fishing, picnics, and just enjoying the scenery. |

Picnicing and camping are among the many things to do at Sprague Brook Park, one of several public recreation areas operated by the Erie County Parks System. Sprague Brook offers three tennis courts, three baseball diamonds, three basketball courts, three fishing ponds, sledding hills, a Boy and Girl Scout camping area, and plenty of trails for mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. |

Camping and shelter reservations are year around at Sprague Brook. Reserve one of the seven picnic shelters for you special family gathering. Or camp in one of 93 non-electric sites. Amenities include flush toilets and shower facilities. |
